Surgeonious® takes very seriously its social responsibility to create sustainability both within and outside of the healthcare community.
SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production – ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
Sustainability and circularity are on our daily to-do list at Surgeonious®. Both within and outside the healthcare sector, we will continue to assume our social responsibility. We only work with suppliers that deliver sustainable surgical instruments, which are then incorporated into our circular system.
Surgeonious® circular services follow the R-ladder strategy as shown on the left. Strategies higher up the ladder, save more raw materials. The higher the strategy is on the R-ladder, the more circular it is.
You can already book our test, loan and repair service at the bottom of this page, while our other services will be rolled out in 2024. Stay informed by leaving your details via the contact form below.
The excellent quality and durability of our range mean that users can choose to use one of our circular services rather than opting for immediate replacement. In the long term, an investment in a high-quality instrument can be more economical than buying a cheaper alternative. Surgeonious® guarantees, therefore, not only the repair of your instruments by the original manufacturers but also a thorough check to make sure your surgical sets are 100% operational.
Our repair services include:
- Sharpening surgical cutting instruments
- Replacing loose parts with new ones
- Making adjustments to surgical instruments
- Straightening bent surgical instruments
- Cleaning surgical instruments Polishing and recoding
- Specifically for Dufner Micasept © laparoscopic instruments: new sealing system installed by Dufner, with a 2-year guarantee (through Surgeonious®). This is for the prevention of contamination.
Our product advisor has the knowledge and expertise to assist you in purchasing sustainable instruments that stay longer in circulation. Our shipping method is also sustainable through its time-efficiency. Discarded instruments are examined together with our partner Mercy Ships and, if they are viable, given a second life. Otherwise they are converted back into raw materials by the manufacturer. The circle is thus closed.
